The Position
The CP Medical Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for creating and implementing the overall sales and marketing strategies for our line of wound closure and specialized surgical products. Provide leadership to our sales staff and build a marketing and sales infrastructure to support our growing organization. Translate our business strategy into prioritized tactics for distributors and direct sales accounts. This individual is responsible for overseeing daily activities concerning all sales and marketing efforts to support our product lines. Contribute to new product development and expansion. An understanding of relevant medical specialties and associated disease paths are important in our business.
The Requirements:
BS/BA in Business or Marketing is desired with a minimum of five years of increasing experience successfully managing marketing, business development and salespeople in the medical device industry (domestic and international).
Strong marketing skills that include the ability to set strategy and develop and execute tactics.
Coach and develop the sales staff to get results. Mentor, train, and provide leadership and support.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate and build relationships with customers, including distributors.
Must be a good negotiator, someone capable of influencing decision-makers.
Concise, credible presentation skills using all forms of communication (verbal, written, formal and electronic) in a clear and precise way to audiences that include our account contacts, medical personnel, managers, Board of Directors, and public groups.
Experience and expertise creating and implementing effective sales compensation plans to achieve strategic goals.
Effective daily organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, manage projects and meet commitments and deadlines.
Solid business acumen required.
Marketing experience in the medical device industry is required.
Requires an understanding of the regulatory environment for medical products.
Must be able and willing to travel up to 70% of the time.
