Research Technician

Full/Part Time Job: Full-Time

Job Summary:  MitoSciences Inc. is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and responsible research technician. Candidate must be reliable, responsible with good attention to details and ability to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and maintaining high quality control standards. He/she must have the ability to work well in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities:  The person will be responsible for, but not limited to, conducting laboratory experiments that lead to the generation and characterization of hybridoma derived monoclonal antibodies. The research work ranges from hybridoma fusion and screening, hybridoma antibody preparation and characterization, as well as antibody purification. Candidate will perform experiments with level-appropriate supervision and independence. Experience with tissue culture of hybridoma and scale-up of hybridoma is highly desirable. Experience performing ELISAs and Western blot analysis is a plus.

Physical demand:

  • Prolonged standing and/or sitting.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate office and heavy lab equipment.
  • Carrying, handling and reaching for objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to hazardous/toxic/dangerous reagents.

Basic requirement:  BS in Biology, Immunology or related field is required. MS and/or previous experience with hybridoma generation and cell-based assays are highly desirable.
