We are currently looking for a Medical Research & Development Scientist to join our team in Portland, Oregon.


Position Summary:    Responsible for performing analytical chemistry research towards the development of new products and improvements for existing diagnostic products.


Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 4-7 years of hand-on industry experience with assay and immunoassay development and analysis.

  • Experience in Immunoassay techniques (lateral flow).

  • 510(k) submission experience

  • Manufacturing experience

  • FDA Quality System Regulation experience


Responsibilities

  • Act as principle investigator studying the structure, composition and nature of substances by examining and identifying the various elements or compounds they contain.

  • Conduct research on the structures and chemical properties of compounds to develop new products, or enhance existing ones.

  • Develop Analytical techniques

  • Contribute to the body of scientific literature and participate in industry conferences.

  • Write & review Design History Documentation for assigned projects.

  • May draft sections or full materials for FDA submissions, patent applications, or other regulatory documents.

  • May act as spokesperson on corporate research and development or specialized projects.

  • Work with minimal supervision.


Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. Degree in Biological or Physical Science
