 ECOBIC Chapter

The Eastern and Central Oregon Bioscience Consortium (ECOBIC) was formed in 2008 as a local effort to affiliate with the state-wide Oregon Bioscience Association (OBA).

ECOBIC has identified a significant demand for regulatory compliance and other professional development programs within its bio-community. The chapter is working with industry as well as with regional economic development and educational institutions to incorporate workforce development classes developed by OBA into their respective regional workforce development programs.

ECOBIC's Mission is to address and represent the common concerns of bioscience-related organizations and to help focus their interests in Eastern and Central Oregon.

Like other OBA Chapters they plan to extend the reach of the OBA’s Community, Collaboration and Commercialization vision by:

  • Growing the member base and staging events that help to provide collaborative development and marketing opportunities for our members.
  • Providing industry-specific workforce training and education programs to ensure the steady supply of skilled workers.
  • Strengthening connections between research organizations and industry members to accelerate both industry R&D and successful commercialization of new products and technologies.
  • Helping to “brand” the Willamette Valley as a desirable location for new companies and for top-tier scientific and management talent.
