Oregon Bio is proud to present our second combined professional development seminar and networking event in central Oregon! Please join us at Bio in the High Desert to bring our local bioscience community together for an evening of collaboration and industry commercialization.

Bio-professionals at all levels attend and learn from their peers about Oregon’s bioscience community and how we fit into a global bio network.

This year’s event will take place at Deschutes Brewery on Simpson street in beautiful  Bend. There will be a dynamic panel discussion and Oregon Bioscience Association will also give a legislation, economic development, and outreach update.

Panel DiscussionFacilities of the Future
Labs are critical and expensive tools for advancing novel technologies. As with any tool, it is important to know what to look for and when to use it.
  • Ernie Staley will present a case study on the recent PSU renovations to the Science 2 building to discuss design and construction issues that users and investors may need to consider when they undertake the construction or renovation of a lab.
  • Patricia Beckman will lend her experience as tenant of an incubator and user of lab space.
  • Gary will participate in an interactive discussion with Ms. Beckmann based on OTRADI's recent plans to create a bioscience incubator. Their discussion will highlight the differing perspectives of a designer and a user; as they attempt to meld both visions for the best possible solution.

Speakers: Ernie Staley of IDC Architects; a division of CH2M HILL. Patricia Beckmann of Oregon Translational Research and Development Institute (OTRADI).  Gary Nagamori is a member of the Science & Technology Group and the national practice leader for Emerging Trends.
