Oregon’s bioscience industry is alive and well.

It wasn’t long ago that states across the country had targeted the bioscience industry as critical to economic development.

As recently as 2005, 41 states, including Oregon, were actively pursuing the emerging industry. Those dreams didn’t materialize as quickly as many thought.

Seed financing for early-stage companies, length of time it takes to get a drug to market and difficulties recruiting top-level talent plagued the industry’s development.
