Gamma Therapeutics to Present at the 10th Annual Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) Investor Forum in San Francisco
Gamma Therapeutics to Present at the 10th Annual Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) Investor Forum in San Francisco Gamma Therapeutics Seeks $5 Million in Venture Investment. In these difficult economic times, venture investment firms are seeking companies developing products capable of coming to market in a short period of time—after quickly clearing the FDA process—making immediate revenues and providing a profitable return on their investment. This position makes Gamma Therapeutics’s array of medical devices appealing to these investors. At the BIO Investor Forum, Gamma Therapeutics will introduce its flagship product, GammaCoeur™, a novel cardiovascular disease risk assay. GammaCoeur was presented to the FDA in September, 2011 and after planned BETA testing is completed in Winter, 2012, the company expects clearance by the FDA for commercial sale in late 2012. Total U.S. annual expenditures in the cardiovascular disease market for drugs, diagnostics, treatment and surgery is estimated to be about $505 Billion.
Venture investment firms also have a high interest in the product pipelines of the ventures they invest in, to ensure long term growth and revenues. In addition to the GammaCoeur CVD Risk Assay, Gamma Therapeutics will present three other promising patented and patent-pending products that include: GammaSeal™, a high tensile strength, biocompatible surgical incision sealant designed to assist surgeons in trauma surgery and wound repair; Gammarin™, a short-acting, non-immunogenic anticoagulant blood thinner for control of venous thromboembolism (VTE) during and after surgery, and GammaTF™, a fast-clotting hemostatic dressing that addresses warfighter hemorrhaging on the battlefield.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to present Gamma Therapeutics’s science and unique new products to leading Life Science venture firms and potential strategic partners, both in the U.S. and internationally.” commented David F. Eastman, chief executive officer. Eastman further stated, “Although we currently are funded with NIH grant monies in the sum of $1.5 M to develop GammaCoeur, we will explore venture investments to assist us with our initial product launch, production ramp up and global marketing.“
