Life Sciences Collaborative: What is the vision?

The Life Sciences Collaborative, a project planned for the South Waterfront, is designed to generate significant return on the investment. This facility, the first of its kind in Oregon will support collaborative life science research with Oregon’s public universities, OHSU, and industry. At one location, this framework is meant to promote inter-institutional collaboration, interaction, and synergistic partnerships: programs that nurture partnerships with private bioscience and pharmaceutical companies at all levels of their development.

Jay Kenton is leading the planning team for the Life Sciences Collaborative. In this interactive hour-long session, Dr. Kenton will discuss the Life Sciences Collaborative vision, its promise, and the challenges faced in making this concept a reality. Dr. Kenton is the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration for OUS. In this capacity, he oversees the development and administration of the state university system’s budget, its operations and capital funding, and develops policy recommendations for the State Board of Higher Education.
