We are Micro Systems Engineering, Inc. part of the worldwide BIOTRONIK group, a medical electronics manufacturer located near Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We now have an opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position works primarily with software applications for pacemaker programmers. Responsibilities include contributions to requirements, specification, and architecture development; development and maintenance of designs and code; product verification; and generation and maintenance of documentation. Relocation assistance will be provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in a small dynamic team environment working on diverse issues, providing sound judgment within generally defined practices and policies in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Work with internal contacts within the team as well as cross-functional teams in other parts of the company, remain current in product-related software development processes, techniques and tools and suggest and implement new approaches to solving problems.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering. MS degree preferred.
Advanced knowledge of, and experience with C++, COM and ATL.
C# experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
Experience with configuration management, test management and defect tracking tools.
Experience with automated testing.
Experience with software lifecycle processes in a medical device software or other highly regulated environment.
Good written and oral communication skills expected.
5+ years of software development experience is required.
