We are Micro Systems Engineering, Inc. part of the worldwide BIOTRONIK group, a medical electronics manufacturer located near Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We now have an opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing our next generation of implantable CRM devices, including system requirements development, system architecture design and tracking of requirements to appropriate sub-systems. You will work closely with various sub-system teams such as implant software design, programmer design, IC design and components engineers to ensure that all product requirements are met. You will evaluate potential new technologies in the areas of systems level simulations, microprocessors, components and development tools. You will be a key technical contributor in a systems design role in direct support to Micro Systems Engineering USA as well as in collaboration with Biotronik design centers worldwide. You will participate in hardware design reviews to ensure new products meet hardware requirements, define and develop test protocols to verify new products or hardware concepts meet the product specifications and are fit for the intended use. You will also perform and document feasibility and verification tests to ensure new hardware designs meet the hardware requirements and systems specifications; provide technical support during feasibility and prototype phases of the hardware development in support of manufacturing. Other responsibilities include participation within SDD and MSEI to build and improve the technical capabilities of the department.

The position requires MS Degree or PhD in the field of Electrical or Biomedical engineering with at least 8 years experience and a proven track record in the development of low voltage low current circuits in one or more of the following areas: analog, digital, high voltage generation, or RF. Strong focus on high quality and high reliability product design, strong analytical skills and proficiency in the application and use of computers, analysis and synthesis tools is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Experience in the medical device industry, preferably in the implantable device industry and background in Cardiovascular Physiology and Biology to understand end application environment is highly desired.
