The Innovation Showcase will take place on Day 2 (September 30)—a high-profile opportunity to present your research or startup in front of investors, tech transfer experts, and life and bioscience industry leaders.

Pitch Categories

Research Fast Pitch

  • For high school through PhD students and early-career researchers
  • 3–5 minute presentations + Q&A
  • Focus on basic or applied science

Startup Pitch

  • For early- and later-stage bioscience companies
  • 9–12 minute presentations + Q&A
  • Categories based on funding or revenue:
    • Early-stage: < $500K raised or earned
    • Later-stage: > $500K raised or earned
Selection Criteria
  • Clarity of the application
  • Elegance of the solution in addressing the problem
  • Intuitiveness of the proposed path forward
  • Potential impact of the work

Note: The Application Review Committee reserves the right to reassign applicants to a different pitch category if appropriate. Applicants will be notified of any such changes.

Eligibility
  • Based in Oregon or Southwest Washington
  • Finalists must also participate in mandatory virtual pitch coaching

All applicants—whether or not selected as finalists—will receive feedback on their submission.
