Innovation Showcase Pitch Competition – Apply Now

Apply now to participate in Oregon Bio’s 2023 Innovation Showcase, held at the Twist Bioscience campus on October 25, 2023, in Wilsonville, Oregon. This is a prime opportunity for Oregon and SW Washington-based entrepreneurs and researchers to showcase their work to an audience that includes investors and industry leaders.

Featuring Research Fast Pitch and Startup Pitch competitions:

The Research Fast Pitch is designed for two categories of research. This event offers basic and applied researchers the opportunity to share their work with the broader bioscience community. Researchers and scientists — including high school students, undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, research associates — are encouraged to apply.  

The Startup Pitch is designed for both early and later stage startups as defined by investment capital raised or revenue earned. This event offers participants the opportunity to share their work with the broader bioscience community. Founders and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply.  

All finalists must attend the in-person the event on October 25th between 2-6:30PM, pitch training (between October 9-20th) as well as a run-through session. A virtual training session will be available for researchers outside of the Portland metro area.

The deadline to apply is September 24, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Perks 

All selected presenters will receive in-depth fast pitch training as well as complimentary admission to Biotech Summit 2023. Selected presenters under 21 years will have a second ticket for a guardian to attend with them. Selected finalists will have their work showcased in the event guide and on the Oregon Bio website. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded to the judges’ picks and a people’s choice winners in all four categories at the Bio on the Vine reception that evening. 

Selection Criteria

Research Fast Pitch applicants must be researchers at Oregon- or Southwest Washington-based research institutions (including undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, research associates) or high school students working on bioscience research projects. If you run a research lab, please nominate one of your students and have them apply. If you are an established researcher or Primary Investigator, consider applying for the Startup Pitch. 

Startup Pitch applicants must be founders, entrepreneurs or executives with bioscience startup companies based in Oregon or Southwest Washington. 

Finalists will be selected based on the clarity of their application, research quality and the potential impact of the work. Finalists will be notified by October 4th.
