This position is part of Genentech’s Hillsboro Individualized Therapies plant.  Hillsboro Individualized Therapies is a new manufacturing facility for novel cellular and individualized therapies. The plant is located on the Genentech Hillsboro Campus in Hillsboro, Oregon.


Job Summary


We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic and experienced Bioprocess Development Engineer to join our Manufacturing Sciences and Technology group.  This individual will lead large cross functional projects and the development, and startup of novel individualized  therapies manufacturing processes.  They  will be responsible for leading aspects of the process development activities including purification, cell culture, process validation and technology transfer.  This includes the design and execution of studies to develop robust and efficient purification processes for plasmids.  They will also provide technical support to the manufacturing operation including process monitoring and optimization as well as authoring technical assessments.   The role requires extensive collaboration with stakeholders in Engineering, Process Technical Development, Manufacturing and Quality.


Position Requirements and Experience:

Bachelors in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences or related)
Demonstrated ability to lead biopharmaceutical process development activities.
12 years of relevant industry experience.  The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
