Vir Biotechnology (Vir), is seeking a Lab Manager for its Portland Oregon site. This role will work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure the Portland Laboratory and Office Facility is maintained and operated in a compliant and safe manner. Responsibilities will include managing external vendor relationships, Goods and Services Agreements, and the maintenance and repair of laboratory facilities and equipment. The candidate must be comfortable working as part of a team, be highly motivated, and display excellent time management skills. The Lab Manager will support the implementation of technologies to drive innovation, efficiency, and productivity in the Lab.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:
·         Support day-to-day supply chain planning activities including supply planning and raw materials planning.
·         Manage the procurement of raw materials from external vendors through Vir standard tools (Coupa and NetSuite).  Collaborate closely with external vendors to forecast and plan materials and manage shipments and invoices.
·         Prepare and monitor logistics shipments across our internal and CMO network including change and deviation management.
·         Own inventory visibility and accuracy across the supply chain network.  Evaluate change control impact to inventory positions and support compliance activities.
·         Develop supply chain dashboards with Tableau to analyze demand, production, and inventory positions across the supply chain network
·         Design and implement supply chain policies, business processes and systems
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
·         Bachelor’s (8+ years) or MS/MBA and (6+ years) of pharmaceutical or biotechnology (preferred) experience.
·         Experience operating in cGMP early-stage clinical to commercial environments.
·         Strong working knowledge of clinical and commercial supply chain management practices including demand/supply planning (S&OP), capacity planning, external manufacturing, logistics, and inventory management.
·         Detailed oriented and analytical mindset. Hands on experience in ERP and core supply planning systems and analytical tools including NetSuite, Tableau, Coupa, Veeva, and MS Office)
·         Provides excellent customer service and develops strong relationships with key partners and vendors.
·         Strong problem-solving skills and sound business judgement
·         Builds strong collaborative relationships with cross functional teams.  Can influence others and adapt well in a fast-paced environment
