OBW invites individuals at all career stages within the bioscience community to participate in our programming. Are you passionate about supporting women in bioscience and advancing diversity within the industry? Joining the Oregon Bio Women Committee is a fantastic way to contribute to this mission. Whether you're a newcomer to the field or a seasoned professional, you’ll find opportunities to connect through networking, outreach, mentorship, and educational initiatives.
How to Join

You can join the committee by nominating yourself or someone you believe would be an excellent addition to our team. We welcome nominations from individuals with a commitment to fostering inclusivity, supporting professional growth, and building community in the bioscience sector.

OBW amplifies the presence of women in bioscience by fostering professional growth, leadership development, and community connections. We convene monthly and host regional meetups, an annual CONNECT event, and a mentorship program. Women and individuals identifying as female from Oregon Bio member companies are encouraged to join, with all welcome to attend events and participate as mentors.

Our community is built by professionals across diverse sectors of the bioscience industry, including biotech and pharmaceutical companies, universities, research institutions, and service providers such as law, accounting, and marketing firms. Entrepreneurs and innovators are also a vital part of our network, reflecting the dynamic growth of bioscience in Oregon.

By joining Oregon Bio Women, participants gain access to a supportive community committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within bioscience, personal and professional development and the ability to shape these OBW programs and events:

  • OBW Mentorship - a nine month program starting in the fall each year
  • Regional meetups that foster meaningful connections and collaborations hosted in the Willamette Valley, Central Oregon and Portland Metro
  • OBW CONNECT - our signature annual event
  • New in 2025 - OBW Awards and a half-day OBW Professional Development Workshop
